Awaroa Bay is a kitesurf spot located in Abel Tasman National Park, Tasman region, on the South Island of New Zealand. This isolated and beautiful bay is only accessible by boat or via the national park hiking trails. It is one of the most spectacular and wild spots in New Zealand. Prevailing winds come from the north and northwest. The spot is suitable for intermediate to advanced kitesurfers due to the total isolation and lack of nearby rescue. The waters are crystal clear and the natural setting is exceptional. Difficult access limits the number of visitors.
