Spot located on the Richelieu River in the Montérégie region, near Contrecœur. Domaine Berthiaume provides access to a navigable section of the river, with enough water area for kitesurfing when wind conditions allow.
The Richelieu River flows from Lake Champlain to the St. Lawrence River on a south-north axis. The river corridor channels south and southwest winds, creating usable conditions. Navigation season from June to September.
River water body with moderate current. Fresh water at pleasant summer temperatures (20-24°C). Muddy to sandy bottom. Short chop when wind opposes current. Limited river width, watch for shorelines and recreational boat traffic.
