Norman Beach at Tidal River is a kitesurfing spot located in the heart of Wilsons Promontory National Park, the southernmost point of the Australian mainland, in Victoria. This spot offers an exceptional natural setting with a white sand beach bordered by Australian bush and granite mountains. Dominant southwest to west winds blow onshore on this exposed beach. Conditions are powerful with significant ocean waves coming from Bass Strait. The spot is reserved for advanced to expert riders due to the isolation, wave power and currents. Access is via the national park road (paid entry). The Tidal River campground is the only accommodation nearby and must be booked in advance. Warning: the spot is isolated, no phone reception, and rescue services are far away. Never sail alone.
