Apollo Bay Main Beach is a kitesurfing spot located on the famous Great Ocean Road, in Victoria. This main beach of Apollo Bay is partially sheltered by the harbour and jetty, offering calmer conditions than the exposed Surf Coast beaches. The setting is stunning, with the green hills of the Otways as a backdrop. Dominant southwest winds blow side-shore on this southeast-facing beach. The bay offers some protection from southwest swell, but waves are still present during large swells. The spot is suitable for intermediate riders. In summer, afternoon thermal breezes are consistent. Apollo Bay is a tourist town with many services, restaurants and accommodations. Parking is available along the beach and near the harbour. Watch out for swimming zones and the harbour jetty.
