Oak Bay is a kitesurfing spot between Indian Island and Marrowstone Island, in northern Puget Sound, near Port Townsend. This bay offers a sheltered body of water between the two islands but with strong tidal currents in the narrow passages. The spot is near the Indian Island Naval Magazine — respect restricted military zones. Advanced level due to currents and proximity to military installations.

Northern Puget Sound with very cold saltwater (7-12°C/45-54°F). A 5/3mm wetsuit with hood and gloves recommended. Flat water to formed chop depending on wind and currents. Strong tidal currents in the passages between islands. Rocky and sandy bottom.
Restricted military zones around Indian Island Naval Magazine — access prohibited. Strong tidal currents. Very cold water — hypothermia. Military and civilian maritime traffic. Submerged rocks. Isolated spot — ride with a buddy.
