Aramoana Beach is a kitesurfing spot located at the entrance of Otago Harbour, near Dunedin. The beach faces northeast and sits at the tip of the peninsula that protects the harbour. Northeast winds are onshore and dominant. Southwest winds work as offshore to cross-offshore. The beach is exposed to Pacific swell. Currents at the harbour entrance can be very strong and dangerous. Sandy bottom. Spot for advanced riders due to powerful currents.
