Gerrish Township Park is a kitesurf spot located in the Houghton Lake area, in central Michigan. Houghton Lake is Michigan's largest inland lake, covering approximately 80 km², offering a vast water body for kitesurfing and wingfoiling. The shallow lake warms well in summer and offers flat water conditions with organized chop in sustained winds. The park provides easy water access and rigging space.

Very shallow lake — risk of hitting bottom during falls. Heavy boat traffic in summer — Houghton Lake is one of Michigan's busiest lakes for fishing and recreation. Numerous jet skis and motorboats. Violent thunderstorms possible in summer with lightning risk — exit water immediately. Algal blooms possible in summer in this shallow lake.
