Overview

Ullibarri-Gamboa (Landa) is a large inland reservoir in the Basque highlands at 543m altitude, 30 km south of Vitoria-Gasteiz. Flat freshwater, no swell. Good thermal winds, especially S-SW channelled through the valleys. Popular with kiters and windsurfers from Bilbao and Vitoria. Standing-depth in many areas. No swimmers. All levels — excellent for beginners. Scenic setting in the Álava plains.
