Les Deveses is the most famous summer kitesurf spot in the Comunitat Valenciana and arguably the entire Spanish Mediterranean coast. Located at the natural border between Dénia and Oliva, at the mouth of the Racons river. Fine sand, shallow water, gentle conditions — a dream for freeride and learning. The Garbí thermal blows here with remarkable consistency from March to September, picking up late morning and lasting until sunset. Compared to southern Alicante spots, the Garbí is less gusty here — very comfortable to sail from shore. Protected dune landscape with clear turquoise waters. Surrounded by orange groves and the Montgó Natural Park. Multiple campings and apartments along the beach. 1.5h north of Alicante, 1h south of Valencia, 2h from Barcelona.

Spring/Summer (March-September): BEST SEASON. Garbí thermal SE 12-20 kts, picks up ~11-12h, peaks 14-18h, dies at sunset. Very consistent. Strongest in spring (March-June) when land heats but sea is still cool. July-August lighter but still reliable.
Autumn (October-November): Transition. Still some thermal days. Llevant E storms bring waves.
Winter (November-March): NOT the best here — Garbí absent. Switch to Punta Molins (Dénia) 10 min south for W/NW terral winds 25-40 kts. Or Espigón Norte.
Flat to small chop with Garbí — very manageable, ideal freeride. Perfect 0.5m waves when thermal is strong — great for strapless. Sandy bottom, no rocks. Shallow near shore. No tide, minimal current (except river mouth). Water 22-27°C summer (boardshort), 14-17°C winter (4/3). Crystal clear turquoise.

Road parallel to the river provides access. Campings along the beach (easy access). Free parking areas along the beach road. Closest towns: Dénia (10 min), Oliva (5 min). Girona/Barcelona 2h north, Valencia 1h, Alicante 1.5h south.
⚠️ Kite restricted in summer — authorized zones only, respect the marked areas.
⚠️ Current at river mouth (Racons) — don't kite directly in the outflow.
⚠️ When Garbí is light, hydrofoilers dominate — share space respectfully.
⚠️ Occasional jellyfish in summer.
Garbí (SE thermal) — THE wind. Side-onshore from the right. 12-20 kts, very consistent March-September. Less gusty here than in southern Alicante — comfortable sailing. Picks up ~11-12h, peaks 14-18h. Kites 9-12m spring, 12-15m summer (75kg). Foil from 8-10 kts.
Llebeig (SW) — Similar to Garbí but more side-shore. Also thermal. Good conditions.
Llevant (E) — Onshore. Waves. More power. Autumn/winter. Kites 7-10m.
Gregal (NE) — Waves, winter storms. More advanced conditions.
