Overview

Dead River Beach is on the Bruce Peninsula's east coast facing Georgian Bay. The spot is exposed to east and northeast winds across the bay. A wild, isolated spot typical of the Bruce Peninsula.

Limited access via forest roads. Very uncrowded spot with no services. Georgian Bay waters on the Bruce Peninsula side are crystal clear but cold. For experienced, self-sufficient riders.

Georgian Bay facing east. Crystal-clear freshwater typical of the Bruce Peninsula. Limestone rocky bottom. Variable depth. Moderate to sustained chop in east winds. Cold water (14-18°C in summer).

Hazards

Very isolated spot — no rescue services. Limestone rocky bottom — booties mandatory. Cold water even in summer — full wetsuit recommended. Difficult access. Never ride alone.
