The Weststrand of Norderney is located on the west coast of the island, before the Kaiserwiese. A kite and windsurf spot with groynes, conditions similar to Januskopf but on the west face — calmer and less crowded. Views of the mainland (Norddeich) on clear days. Works well with N/NW/W winds. A lesser-known alternative when other spots are packed.
Access from the west of the town of Norderney, following the coast northwest. Limited parking in season. Official NordSBefV zone. Kiting allowed April to October.
Intermediate
N/NNW/NW best on this face. W and NE also possible. Conditions less spectacular than Januskopf or Weisse Dune, but more accessible. Good fallback spot or introduction to wave riding.
Groynes in the water — be careful at high tide. Less frequented spot means less supervision. North Sea currents. Intermediate level. Kiting only in the official zone. High tide improves conditions (cleaner waves).
