This second access point to Alta Lake is in the southern part of the lake, on the Whistler Creekside side. Access from Lakeside Park. Same lake as Alta Lake (9198) but with slightly different exposure. The southern part of the lake can receive the thermal wind more directly as it comes up the valley from Squamish.

Intermediate
Fresh water. Conditions identical to the rest of Alta Lake — flat to slightly choppy. Sand and mud bottom. Cold water (13-20°C in summer). Limited fetch in the southern section.
Recreational traffic (canoes, paddleboards). Gusty wind. Cold water. Limited riding space in this part of the lake.
