Overview

Lake of Bays is a large Muskoka lake (altitude 393 m) north of Huntsville. The lake has an irregular shape with many bays and arms. Larger than Lake Joseph, offering more space but wind remains variable due to Canadian Shield terrain.

Some public access points (Dwight, Dorset). Cottage lake with heavy boating activity. For experienced riders — variable wind, cold water, distant shores. Season: June to September.

Large irregular Canadian Shield lake. Crystal-clear freshwater, rocky bottom (granite). Variable depth, sometimes very deep (40+ m). Cool water (15-20°C in summer). Moderate chop in open sections.
