Overview

Ærøskøbing (Vesterstrand) is a spot on the north coast of Ærø island, facing the South Funen Archipelago. Flat water in all wind directions thanks to island protection (Drejø, etc.). Sandy bottom with shallow area near shore, but water gets deep quickly — suited for foiling. 71 historic beach huts along Vesterstrand.

Flat water, sheltered by the archipelago islands. Sandy bottom with scattered stones (small and large) — caution with long fins. Shallow zone near shore, then depth increases quickly. Seasonal Baltic seaweed. Blue Flag beach. Campsite 100 m from the water.

Stones (small and large) mixed in the sandy bottom — risk of fin damage. Ærøskøbing-Svendborg ferry traffic — watch the navigation channel near the harbour. Seaweed can tangle lines in summer. Water gets deep quickly offshore.
