Gamtoos River Mouth (beach) is the ocean beach area at the Gamtoos River mouth. This spot offers beach break waves on sandy bottom in an unspoiled natural setting. This is the coastal section of the mouth complex, facing south. Wave conditions are good for intermediate wave riding. Wild and isolated spot between J-Bay and Port Elizabeth.
The spot works with SE to SW wind. Ocean beach with beach break. Consistent waves during SW swell. Rideable at all tides. Currents near the mouth. Same isolation as the main spot.

Waves of 1-2 metres (beach break). Sandy bottom. Moderate chop. Currents possible near the mouth. Water temperature between 18-22°C. 3/2 wetsuit in summer.
Same access as Gamtoos River Mouth. Dirt road from the N2. Limited parking. Off-road vehicle recommended. No facilities.
Southeast wind blows side-onshore. Same characteristics as the main Gamtoos Mouth spot. Strength of 15-25 knots in summer. The Gamtoos valley can accelerate the wind. Reliable SE thermal in the afternoon.
Mouth currents. Isolated spot with no rescue services. Sharks present. Difficult access road. Do not ride alone.
