Kollund is located on the north shore of Flensburg Fjord, very close to the German border in southern Jutland. The fjord opens to the east and offers a relatively sheltered body of water. Easterly and southeasterly winds create the best conditions by pushing wind into the fjord. A quiet spot with a peaceful atmosphere away from crowds.

Flat to slightly choppy water in the fjord. Sandy and muddy bottom. Shallow water near the shore. In strong easterly winds, moderate chop develops in the fjord.
Muddy bottom in some areas. Current possible in the fjord. Maritime traffic (ferries to Flensburg). Do not venture too far into the main fjord channel.
