Port Waikato - Beach is a kitesurfing spot located on the west coast, at the mouth of the Waikato River, in the Waikato region, on the North Island of New Zealand. This ocean beach faces the Tasman Sea and offers more exposed wave and wind conditions than the neighboring river spot. Prevailing winds come from the southwest to northwest. The spot is suitable for intermediate to advanced kitesurfers due to exposure to ocean waves and currents at the river mouth. The beach offers a wide launch area on the volcanic black sand.
