Overview

A Lanzada is one of Galicia's most famous kite beaches, in Sanxenxo on the O Grove peninsula. Long sandy beach facing west, exposed to full Atlantic swell. NW and SW winds, 15-25 knots. Best in autumn and winter — epic wave kiting. Summer is regulated (swimming zones) and less windy. Strong currents in windy conditions. April-October for thermal, autumn-winter for storms. Water ~14-17°C — bring your warmest wetsuit. Nearby: O Grove peninsula, Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park, chapel of Nuestra Señora de La Lanzada.
