Overview

Playa del Sardinero is Santander's main beach — elegant urban setting. Works in E wind directions (one of only two spots in Cantabria with Laredo). Popular with swimmers — better in spring/autumn to avoid crowds. Some rocks at launch get submerged at high tide. The tiny beach of El Chiqui at the northern end is an alternate launch. City beach with full amenities.
