Spot de Murtosa / Ria de Aveiro

Murtosa / Ria de Aveiro

Murtosa / Ria de Aveiro

Overview

Spot located at the Nortada kitesurf-wing school managed by Adriano. With the school, for rigging, there is plenty of space on the grass located behind the villa and before the camping spots. There is a shower to rinse yourself and your gear, a changing room and even a compressor to inflate the kite. You cross the road and you're in the lagoon.
Outside the school, people park along the road and rig their gear along the road at high tide or on the sand of the lagoon at low tide. In front of the school there is a sandbank, so even at high tide, there is approx. 50m X 100m where you can touch the bottom. So perfect for beginners with a side wind. The lagoon is large. See the videos. Possibility to foil for 3 hours around high tide, but you need to plan your vacation to have high tide in the afternoon as there are more chances to have the Nortada wind.
Ask Adriano for advice before booking. Possible to rent the villa on the spot: a dream!
In the region, 20 minutes away, it's possible to surf in the ocean at Furadouro, a town with nice restaurants along the beach (surf rental and lessons available). The beach of Torreira, 15 minutes away, is magnificent. Be aware that the water is much colder than in the lagoon! Aveiro and Porto are only 30 and 40 minutes away by car for beautiful visits and good restaurants.
