Praia do Norte (Nazaré) is world-famous for the biggest waves ever surfed — 20-30m monsters in winter. The underwater Nazaré Canyon amplifies Atlantic swells dramatically. This is NOT a kite spot in big swell — it is life-threatening. However, on smaller summer days with NW Nortada, kiting is possible for experienced riders. The lighthouse (Farol da Nazaré) viewpoint is iconic. Expert only, and only on calm days.

EXTREME DANGER in winter: waves can exceed 20 meters. The Nazaré Canyon creates unpredictable currents and sudden wave sets. Never kite here during big swell season (October-March). Even in summer, strong currents and shore break. Rocks at the base of the cliff.
