Calpe — dominated by the iconic Peñón de Ifach rock. Playa de Poniente = one of the most visited kite/windsurf spots in the region. Morro de Toix and Sierra de Olta frame the landscape. Also Playa de Levante for E storm waves (reef 100m out). Garbí SW and Llevant E. Intermediate to advanced.
Local windsurf and kitesurf community. No dedicated kite school on site — closest schools in Dénia (Costa Blanca Kitesurf) and Altea area.
Playa de Poniente (west side): Main kite/windsurf beach. Garbí SW, Llebeig. Framed by mountains (Morro de Toix, Sierra de Olta) creating a spectacular landscape. One of the most visited spots in the region.
Playa de Levante (east side): Famous for E storm waves — reef 100m out creates considerable wave height. Levante days only, advanced.
Best season: Spring/summer for thermal (SW), autumn/winter for storms (E/NE) and wave riding.
Poniente: Sandy bottom, flat to chop with Garbí SW. Sheltered by Peñón de Ifach. Manageable conditions.
Levante: Reef break 100m out — powerful waves during E storms. Rocky near shore in places. Advanced only on storm days. Water 22-26°C summer (boardshort), 14-17°C winter (4/3). Spectacular scenery with the Ifach rock towering above.

Parking along the seafront promenades on both Poniente and Levante beaches. Paid parking summer, often free off-season. Town center walkable. Between Valencia (2h) and Alicante (1h). AP-7 motorway access.
⚠️ Reef 100m from Levante beach — creates big waves during E storms but also a hazard for drifting riders.
⚠️ Rocky sections near Peñón de Ifach — avoid kiting too close.
⚠️ Tourist beach — crowded summer, kite restricted.
⚠️ Llevant E storm waves can be powerful — experienced riders only during storms.
Garbí / Llebeig (SW) — Main wind at Playa de Poniente. Thermal, 12-20 kts. Spring/summer. Side-onshore. Kites 9-12m.
Llevant (E) — Creates powerful waves at Playa de Levante thanks to the reef. Storm conditions. Kites 7-10m. Advanced.
Gregal (NE) — Winter storms. Cross-shore at Poniente. Waves.
Xaloc (SE) — Light. Works with foil/hydrofoil.
Migjorn (S) — Onshore at Poniente. Rare but rideable.
