Damon Point is a kitesurfing spot at the southeastern tip of the Ocean Shores peninsula, at the entrance of Grays Harbor in Washington State. This sand point offers access to the inner harbor side, more sheltered than the ocean beach of Ocean Shores. However, tidal currents at the Grays Harbor entrance are extremely powerful and dangerous. The spot offers views of the harbor entrance and Westport jetty. Advanced level required.
Inner Grays Harbor with cold saltwater (9-13°C/48-55°F). A 4/3 to 5/4mm wetsuit. Flat water to chop in the harbor, ocean conditions near the entrance. Extremely strong tidal currents at the harbor entrance. Sandy bottom. The rideable area changes significantly with the tide.
