Newport Pass Road is a kitesurf spot on the Gulf side beach of Mustang Island, accessible via Newport Pass Road. The spot is in the southern part of the island, between the State Park and Packery Channel. The beach is less crowded than the accesses near Port Aransas, offering more space. The name refers to a former pass (now closed) that once connected the Gulf to the Laguna Madre.
