Overview

Rush Lake is a kitesurf spot on an alkaline lake in Rush Valley, west of the Wasatch Front in Tooele County. This shallow lake in a desert basin setting offers consistent winds channeled by the valley. Arid and wild landscape. Very variable water level depending on seasons and years — can be nearly dry some years. Isolated and uncrowded spot. Season from April to October.

Shallow alkaline water. Water temperature from 0°C in winter (frozen) to 24°C in summer. Very shallow — risk of hitting bottom. Muddy and saline bottom. Very variable level. 4/3 wetsuit in spring/fall, shorty in summer.
