First Landing State Park is located at the entrance of the Chesapeake Bay, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This historic spot offers access to both the bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Prevailing northeast winds in autumn and winter and southwest winds in summer create varied conditions throughout the year. The bay side offers relatively flat and sheltered water, ideal for freeride and freestyle, while the ocean side provides waves and current for more experienced riders. The sandy bottom and shallow water make it an accessible spot for intermediate riders.
