Mile 118 is a kitesurfing spot on the Columbia River in the eastern part of the Gorge, on the Washington side. This area benefits from thermal winds that funnel up the Columbia Valley from the west. The body of water is a reservoir offering flat water conditions. Semi-arid landscape with dry grass-covered hills and basalt cliffs. Less crowded than the classic Hood River sites, offering more space and solitude.
