Gulfside is the ocean-side kitesurf spot of South Padre Island, facing the Gulf of Mexico. Unlike the Laguna Madre flats on the bay side, this spot offers oceanic conditions with waves and surf possible in SE or S swell. The long fine sand beach allows easy launching. The dominant SE wind is onshore, creating chop and waves. Spot recommended for riders looking for more dynamic conditions than the flats.
Open all year round
