South Sandy Beach (West) is a second access point on the south shore of Utah Lake, slightly west of South Sandy Beach (South). Different exposure offering good conditions in east and north winds. Sandy launch area. Season from April to October.

Shallow freshwater (max ~4m). Water temperature from 2°C in winter to 24°C in summer. Sandy bottom. Short chop. Full 4/3 wetsuit in spring/fall, shorty in summer.
Very shallow lake. Algae and cyanobacteria in summer. Mountain thunderstorms with lightning. Thermal winds increasing rapidly. Boat traffic.
