East Beach is a kitesurfing spot on the east coast of Marrowstone Island, in Admiralty Inlet (north Puget Sound). This east-facing beach offers good exposure to south to southeast winds that dominate the area in fall and winter. The spot features a natural isolated setting on this quiet island accessible by road. Views of the Cascade Range on clear days.

Riding in Admiralty Inlet with cold saltwater (7-13°C/45-55°F). A 5/3mm wetsuit is recommended most of the year. Formed chop possible when wind opposes tidal current. Tidal currents in Admiralty Inlet are among the strongest in Puget Sound. Rocky and sandy bottom.
Very strong tidal currents in Admiralty Inlet — can carry riders quickly. Very cold water — high hypothermia risk. Heavy maritime traffic including large vessels and ferries. Isolated spot on an island — ride with a buddy and inform someone of your session. Rocks and driftwood on the beach.
