South Beach State Park is a kitesurfing spot on Oregon's central coast, south of Newport and Yaquina Bay. This state park offers a long sandy beach exposed to North Pacific swells. The spot is south of the Yaquina Bay jetty. Park facilities (camping, restrooms, parking) make access comfortable. Northwest thermal winds are reliable in summer.

Cold water year-round (10-14°C), 4/3 wetsuit minimum in summer, 5/3 in winter. Waves of 1 to 2.5 meters with powerful northwest swell. Sandy bottom. Frequent rip currents, especially on outgoing tide. Currents related to the nearby Yaquina Bay mouth to the north.
Proximity to Yaquina Bay bar: powerful currents, do not ride near the mouth. Rock jetty: maintain safe distance. Dangerous sneaker waves. Violent rip currents. Massive driftwood. Very cold water risking rapid hypothermia. Fishing boat traffic.
