Airport is a soundside spot in Frisco on Hatteras Island, near the Billy Mitchell Airstrip (former Frisco airport). The spot faces Pamlico Sound with a vast and shallow body of water. It's an intermediate spot as the riding area can be windier and more exposed than the more sheltered spots further north. Access is via dirt roads leading to the sound's edge. The spot offers good conditions for freeride and freestyle in an isolated setting.
Flat to slightly choppy water on Pamlico Sound. Depth is shallow but can increase faster than other soundside spots in the area. Sandy bottom with some seagrass patches. In SW wind, conditions are excellent with flat water. The spot is fairly exposed and wind can be stronger than at vegetation-sheltered spots further north.
