Chicamacomico House is a soundside spot in the historic Chicamacomico area of Hatteras Island, between Rodanthe and Avon. The name refers to the famous Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station, the most well-known lifesaving station in the Outer Banks. The spot provides access to Pamlico Sound with classic flat and shallow water conditions. The area is rich in maritime history and offers a unique setting for riding. Intermediate spot as the area can be more exposed and the bottom features oyster patches.

Flat water on Pamlico Sound. Shallow depth over a large area. Sandy bottom with seagrass and oyster shell zones. The spot is fairly open on the sound, offering plenty of space. Good conditions for freeride and freestyle in all wind directions.
Sharp oyster shells — water shoes recommended. Stingrays present. Sea nettles (jellyfish) in summer. Violent afternoon thunderstorms possible in summer with lightning. In strong NE wind, water level can drop significantly.
