Comal Park is an access point to Canyon Lake, a stunning 8,230-acre reservoir in the Texas Hill Country, between Austin and San Antonio. Canyon Lake is renowned for its turquoise waters fed by the Guadalupe River and its spectacular limestone cliffs. Comal Park offers easy lake access with grassy launch areas. This is one of the most beautiful freshwater kitesurfing spots in Texas, with an exceptional natural setting.

Freshwater body with remarkably clear turquoise water, among the clearest in Texas. Good fetch depending on wind direction. Moderate to strong chop in high winds. Variable depth with deep areas in the center. Limestone rocky bottom in many areas. Pleasant water temperature from May to October.
Limestone cliffs and rocks along the shoreline. Submerged rocks in some areas, especially during low water levels. Very heavy boat traffic on summer weekends — extreme caution required. Hill Country terrain can create gusts and turbulence. Severe thunderstorms possible, especially in spring.
