The spot is near Barview Jetty County Park, with camping and basic facilities. The proximity to Tillamook Bay offers the option of riding in the calmer bay waters in moderate wind.

Significant currents near the jetty and Tillamook Bay mouth. Conditions are calmer on the bay side for less experienced riders.
Very dangerous rock jetty if drifting: maintain absolute safe distance. Extremely powerful currents at Tillamook Bay mouth. Dangerous sneaker waves on the exposed beach. Massive driftwood that can cause serious injuries. The Tillamook Bay bar is known for treacherous conditions. Very cold water risking hypothermia. Fishing boat traffic entering and exiting the bay.
