Ramp 30 is a National Park Service 4WD beach access ramp north of Avon on Hatteras Island. This ramp is one of the last ORV accesses before reaching Avon village from the north. The beach is wild and part of Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Ramp 30 offers a section of ocean beach with good wave kiting conditions. ORV permit required for vehicle access.

Atlantic ocean waves. Variable shore break. Sandy bottom with shifting sandbars. Good wave conditions in NE to SE winds. Uncrowded beach section north of Avon. Beach is wide at low tide.
4WD access — ORV permit required. Rip currents possible. Shore break can be powerful. Stingrays. Jellyfish in summer. Afternoon thunderstorms with lightning possible in summer.
