Gearhart is a kitesurfing spot located on Oregon's north coast, just north of Seaside. This long, quiet sandy beach offers conditions similar to Seaside with fewer crowds. Northwest winds blow strong in summer and Pacific waves are consistent. The small village of Gearhart offers a calm, residential atmosphere. Suited for advanced riders like all ocean spots on the Oregon coast.
Exposed ocean spot with waves of 1 to 2.5m. Water is cold (10-14°C/50-57°F), a 4/3 or 5/3 wetsuit is essential. Sandy bottom. Moderate to powerful shore break. Frequent rip currents. The beach is wide and long with plenty of rigging space.
