Silver Beach Park is a kitesurf spot located on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, in St. Joseph, southwestern Michigan. This popular sandy beach, south of the St. Joseph River channel, is one of southwestern Michigan's most visited beach destinations. The historic carousel and St. Joseph lighthouse are nearby attractions. The direct west exposure captures prevailing winds that generate regular waves.

Lake Michigan water body with full west exposure. West to northwest winds generate waves of 1 to 2 meters. Cold water — full wetsuit required except in midsummer (July-August). Sandy bottom with gradual slope. Longshore currents possible in strong winds. Channel jetties can create local wind and current effects.
Longshore and rip currents possible in strong west winds. St. Joseph River channel jetties to avoid — dangerous currents. Boat traffic in the channel. Cold Lake Michigan water with hypothermia risk. Extremely busy beach in summer — watch for swimmers and children. Violent thunderstorms possible with lightning risk.
