South Haven South Beach is a kitesurf spot located on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, in South Haven, south of the channel. This sandy beach offers the same conditions as North Beach with direct west exposure on Lake Michigan. The position south of the channel offers slightly more tranquility than the more touristy north beach. South Haven's red lighthouse is visible from this beach. Regular waves in west winds.

Lake Michigan water body with full west exposure. West to northwest winds generate waves of 1 to 2 meters. Cold water — full wetsuit required except in midsummer. Sandy bottom with gradual slope. Longshore currents possible in strong winds. Similar conditions to North Beach with generally fewer people.
Longshore and rip currents possible in strong west winds. Channel jetties to the north to avoid — dangerous currents. Boat traffic in the South Haven channel. Cold Lake Michigan water with hypothermia risk. Frequent swimmers in summer. Violent thunderstorms possible with lightning risk — exit water immediately.
