Hargen aan Zee is a quiet North Sea spot between Camperduin and Bergen aan Zee on the Noord-Holland coast. The beach offers a direct approach to the lagune at Camperduin and serves as an alternative parking/access point for that complex. The North Sea stretch itself is suitable for intermediate riders. At low water, groynes help break the current and create smaller wave pockets. NNE wind can produce nice breaks between the groynes. Three beach restaurants in the area.
Open all year round

Parking Hargen aan Zee — €1.95/hour, max €6/day (1 Mar–1 Nov). Good access to both the beach and the Camperduin lagoon.
⚠️ Groynes every ~200m partially submerged at high tide — watch carefully, especially when riding downwind.
⚠️ Strong currents typical of this Noord-Holland coast — water gets deep quickly.
