Callantsoog is an official NKV kitespot on the North Sea coast of Noord-Holland. The kite zone is located at beach pole 13 (strandpaal 13), near the De Stern beach pavilion. Kitesurfing is only permitted within the designated zone — riding outside it risks fines (Natura 2000 surroundings). Swimmers have absolute priority.
The beach has submerged groynes every ~200m: visible at low tide, hidden at high tide. A 2023 sand nourishment project has improved conditions at the north end. Water conditions range from choppy to medium waves depending on wind and swell. Not suitable for beginners.
Best parking: Strandslag Abbestee (free).
