Castricum aan Zee is a popular North Sea kitespot in Noord-Holland with an official NKV wind station providing live measurements (10-minute refresh). There are two kite zones north and south of the main beach access point. North zone: beware of a submerged shipwreck.
Water conditions are mostly choppy at low tide and produce small waves at high tide. Best with NW–SW winds year-round. The beach is well-maintained and less crowded than Amsterdam-area spots. Open year-round.
