Castricum aan Zee is a popular North Sea kitespot in Noord-Holland with an official NKV wind station providing live measurements (10-minute refresh). There are two kite zones north and south of the main beach access point. North zone: beware of a submerged shipwreck.
Water conditions are mostly choppy at low tide and produce small waves at high tide. Best with NW–SW winds year-round. The beach is well-maintained and less crowded than Amsterdam-area spots. Open year-round.

North kite zone: submerged shipwreck — stay aware of its position. Groynes on the beach. Choppy water at low tide, small waves at high tide. Strong currents. Not suitable for beginners. Two kite zones (north and south of beach access).
