IJmuiden Zone 2 (Zuidpier beach, gemeente Velsen) is the seasonal kitespot adjacent to Zone 1. It offers a different experience: at high tide with a good swell, waves and currents make it a dynamic and challenging zone for experienced riders. Open only in low season (1 October–31 March).
Connects to Zone 1 (always open) to the north and to IJmuiderslag (Zone 3, always open) to the south. The beach has the same pavilion infrastructure as Zone 1.

Large car park at Zuidpier. GPS: Zuidpier, IJmuiden, Noord-Holland. Access from A9/A22, signs IJmuiden. Zone 3 (IJmuiderslag) accessible by walking south along the beach. Check current NKV zone rules on site boards.

Choppy to light waves. Freeride and foil. Zone 3 accessible on foot from the Zuidpier parking.
Zone 2 is closed during high season (1 April–1 October) — kitesurfing strictly forbidden. At high tide with good swell, the zone can get heavy with waves and strong currents. Not suitable for beginners. Swimmers and beach visitors have priority.
