Pontechianale is a mountain spot located on the shores of the artificial Lago di Castello in the Varaita Valley, at about 1600 m altitude in the Piedmontese Cottian Alps. The lake offers a compact body of water for kitesurfing and wingfoiling at altitude. Valley thermal winds develop in the afternoon during summer, channelled by the valley orientation. An unusual spot in a spectacular alpine setting.
