Margherita di Savoia is famous for its immense salt pans, the largest in Europe. The kite spot is on the long sandy beach that borders the town on the Adriatic side. The body of water is open with a progressive bottom. The beach is very long, offering plenty of space for sailing. It is a renowned spot in Puglia, regularly windy thanks to its position on the northern coast, exposed to the Maestrale and Tramontana.
Parking along the seafront. Free off-season, paid in summer. Large parking capacity.
Wind specificities
Excellent spot for the Maestrale (NW) and Tramontana (N) which blow parallel or cross-shore on this coast. The Grecale (NE) is onshore and can build chop. Thermal wind in summer.
Hazards
Swimming area in summer. Coastal current in strong winds. Progressive bottom with no particular danger.
