Overview

Kailua Bay is one of Hawaii's most famous kitesurfing spots, located on Oahu's east (windward) coast. This stunning bay with turquoise waters and white sand is regularly ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the United States. The spot benefits from direct exposure to northeast trade winds that blow consistently and powerfully on this windward coast of the Ko'olau range. The reef protects a vast inner lagoon offering flat water ideal for progression, while waves form beyond the reef. Kailua Beach is an essential spot on the Hawaiian kite scene.
