El Dorado Lake is a 3,200-hectare reservoir in the Flint Hills, near Wichita. Boulder Bluff Point offers excellent access and good southern wind exposure. The lake benefits from generous fetch across the Flint Hills prairies.

Large freshwater reservoir with good fetch. Sandy and rocky shorelines. Can develop serious chop in strong winds. Relatively clear water for a Kansas lake.
Tornado Alley — thunderstorms and tornadoes. Lightning. Blue-green algae blooms possible. Boat traffic. Rocky shore at Boulder Bluff — dangerous in strong onshore winds.
