Jupiter Civic Center is a beach access point in Jupiter, just south of the famous Jupiter Inlet. The spot offers Atlantic access with views of the historic Jupiter Lighthouse (1860). The east-facing beach is a good launch point for kitesurfing, with the option to ride north toward the inlet or south along the coast. Less technical than Jupiter Inlet to the north.
Atlantic waters with moderate waves. Sandy bottom. Jupiter Inlet influence to the north with possible currents. Gulf Stream close to shore at this latitude. Warm water year-round. Longshore drift current.
Intermediate
Open all year round
Do not venture too far north toward Jupiter Inlet — strong currents. Frequent sharks in this area (one of the densest in Florida). Rip currents. Jellyfish. Swimmers on the beach.
