East Beach is located on the east side of Fort Desoto Park, facing Tampa Bay and the Mullet Key Channel. This spot is the more protected side of the park, offering calmer waters than the Gulf side. Fort Desoto Park is one of the most popular public parks in the Tampa Bay area, located on Mullet Key at the southern tip of the Pinellas peninsula.
Relatively calm and shallow Tampa Bay waters. Sandy bottom. Mullet Key Channel generates current during rising and falling tides. Moderate chop with sustained east wind. Warmer waters than the Atlantic.
