Overview

Skeena is a spot near Prince Rupert, on BC's north Pacific coast, at the mouth of the Skeena River. It's one of the most northerly kitesurf spots on the Canadian Pacific coast. Wind can be powerful and conditions wild. Prince Rupert is one of Canada's rainiest cities. A spot for adventurers.

Mix of fresh water (Skeena River) and salt water. Powerful river current. Cold water (7-12°C). Wind can create chop on the river current. Unpredictable and changing conditions.

Hazards

Very powerful river current. Very cold water (5/4 full wetsuit required). Marine traffic (ferries to Haida Gwaii, fishing boats). Debris and floating logs from the river. Very remote spot. Frequent rain. Bears and wildlife. Changing conditions.
